My family used to have horses. We were newbie horse owners. My dad didn’t know anything about horses (he thought himself an expert) and went for the barefoot trims and hackamores. The person doing the trims was inexperienced and started smacking one of the horses after getting lightly kicked. Then got angry with me when I intervened. The horse was young and poorly trained when we got her, and it took months for me to get her to relax and let me pick up her feet😭

I really love the fact you released pressure when she stopped kicking. That's how she learns standing still is the right answer. Great job!
